Medical Device Manufacturing Programmer
Developed and designed a PIC based programmer for programming multiple static memory chips for use in a Medical Device. This embedded design involved Electronics and Software design to create a programming system to program up to 6 EEPROMs in less then 1 Second. This system is an integral part of an automated machine with a goal of programming at least 150 devices per minute

Physician Programmer for Implantable Medical Device
Worked with a team to develop software for a Physician Programmer for programming and implantable medical device. This embedded system is based on the ThreadX Real-time OS and provides a GUI based interface for controlling an implantable medical device. It was developed using both .Net and a Green Hills compiler.

Real-Time Medical Device Test System Platform
Designed and developed real-time Windows-NT based test system to capture and timestamp analog electronic hardware events, RS232 control and output activity. Scripting capabilities and data logging. This was an extensive project involving MFC C++ application design/Development. Xilinx FPGA logic design (used for real-time event logging), as well as digital and analog hardware design.

  Medical Programmer Test System Platform
Designed and developed a Windows-NT based test system to capture screen images, provide simulated touch screen inputs,  RS232 control and output activity. Scripting capabilities and data logging. This was an extensive project involving MFC C++ application design/Development as well as digital and analog hardware design to capture screen images and for providing touch outputs.

Real-Time Medical Device Test System Platform
Designed and developed real-time Windows-NT based test system to provide stimulus and capture and timestamp analog/digital electronic hardware events, RS232 control and output activity. Scripting capabilities and data logging. This was an very extensive project involving MFC C++ application design/Development as well as digital and analog hardware design.

  Factory Automation and  Production Tools
Designed, developed, and maintained all aspects of factory automation software.  Major areas of design and development:  C/C++; DXF to CNC Rule engine to convert Autocad drawing to a CNC control file for a 2-Axis CNC cutting machine; CNC Machine control and user-interface application. Major areas of development and maintenance:  “dxf Resize Engine,” a software application to take an AutoCAD drawing and a rule-base to resize the drawing to desired size

  Automated Production Test Equipment
Designed and developed automated production device testers.  One set of Testers measured electrical frequency response and characteristics of electrical devices using a DSP card for Data acquisition and FFT processing. Processing also included control of Wafer IC probing machine to control automated loading/unloading of IC Wafers and sequence stepping though devices within a wafer.  Another test system performed automated visual measurement and part inspection.

 Medical Device Design
Worked with a team to design and develop implantable rate responsive pacing devices. Design included both digital hardware design and 6805-assembler design. Design responsibilities included specifications and documentation to meet US FDA implantable device requirements .

 Automated Space Based Experiment Control
Designed and developed Real Time experiment control system for space flight. Design responsibilities included experiment specific hardware design. Real Time and control development on a 68020 VME bus platform using PDOS operating system. Included in responsibility was Military Standard documentation required for Space Flight experiments on the Space Shuttle.
